quick bite: Verrill Farm breakfast sandwich

On Saturdays and Sundays, there is a brief two hour window to grab a breakfast sandwich at Verrill Farm.  If you stop in between nine and eleven, you can get their made to order bacon, egg, and cheese on an English muffin.  They prepare them at a small, temporary counter just inside the front door, wrap them up in foil, and send you on your way. There are no real choices, no ham or turkey sausage, no croissants or bagels.  Hopefully, this is your go to breakfast sandwich cause it’s all they offer.
There are a lot of places you can get bacon, egg, and cheese on an English muffin, McDonalds, Burger King, and of course Dunkin Donuts.  You could also hit a diner or breakfast café.  But the Verrill Farm’s sandwich takes the best of both and puts it together.  Like your favorite diner, it’s made to order. You watch them fry your egg. It is hot and fresh, no microwaves around.  But unlike the diner, it’s super fast, usually faster than Dunkin Donuts is.

As for the sandwich itself, the muffin is good.  The cheese is gooey but not overwhelming.  The egg is fresh, though I would prefer more of a runny yolk.  They usually cook it till the yolk sets and I prefer sunny side up.  The bacon is generous and delicious.  They use three half slices and arrange them carefully so that every bite has bacon in it.  The result is a fantastic sandwich that is a great start to any weekend.

    1. Thanks. There vegetables are wonderful too! They have become very popular and often very crowded. I always love seeing their name on menus and I also see it more and more lately.
